Berliner Zoological Garden
Family-Friendly activity on your doorstep
Berliner Zoological Garden, also known as Berlin Zoo, is located in Tiergarten, the city’s biggest park. As you enter the park from the southern side, you’ll notice a towering red building. That’s the Rhino Pagoda, part of the Berlin Zoo and home to rhinos, tapirs, and Visayan warty pigs.
The names of the other areas are just as enticing as the Rhino Pagoda. There’s the Empire of Cats, hosting majestic lions, jaguars, and tigers, who are mostly lounging or letting out the occasional roar. Panda Garden, as its name suggests, houses pandas and, of course, their biggest love: bamboo. Zebras, reindeer, and European bison live in a historic area called the Romantic Heart of the Zoo, while the elegant giraffes are located in the Antelope House, the zoo’s oldest building.
